A new journey in Data Warehouse
I’m starting a new journey, the Data Warehouse Journey! This is my first article about my journey to learn Data Warehouse. The goal is to write simple articles with the day-by-day situations while I learn about Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, SharePoint development, issues, bugs, tips, anything that could help someone that will learn about it in the future.
Power Pivot Basics
To get started in Data Warehouse, I studied about Power Pivot Basics and Power Tables. To manipulate data in Power Pivot, you need to transform all the data in the Excel in a table.
IMPORTANT: The table can’t have gaps, need to be full filled.
After that you are able to manipulate fields in the table with Power Pivot.
As you see, I could change the way to see the table just by putting the Quarter field as a Row and not a Column anymore. It looks very simple but it can help a lot in a bigger table that needs to be detailed.
This is just an introduction of Power Pivot basics, we’ll learn so much more!
