RJ: Carl, you have been coding since more than a decade and have completed several successful projects. When did you undertake the Deutsche Bank project?
CH: This was in 2000 and I worked on it till 2004. I joined forces with a Deutsche Bank manager and created a software solutions company, where we sold our web application creation ‘engine’ to Deutsche Bank and other clients in the United Kingdom.
RJ: Were you helped by other persons in creating this ‘engine’?
CH: The software solutions company also employed several graduates.
RJ: What was the aim of the Deutsche Bank project?
CH: Deutsche Bank wanted to design web based solutions for the CRM team and Global Equities division in London.
RJ: What was your role in this project?
CH: I was the Chief Technical Architect.
RJ: What solution did you offer?
CH: We developed a tool to build dynamic data-driven websites using schema metadata from SQL databases. In creating the solution we removed the repetitive steps when coding and creating a data driven website, enabling the team to develop custom solutions in a fraction of the normal development time.
RJ: This must have been very beneficial to Deutsche Bank.
CH: Yes, we produced a Conference Management system in record time, as well as a custom CRM solution.
RJ: Can you recollect any memorable incident or event?
CH: The product was incorporated into ListLogix and several internal Deutsche Bank applications.
RJ: Can you give any images, technical drawings, flowcharts, etc?
CH: I may have some old architecture diagrams at home on an old computer.
RJ: Yes, a long time has passed but I am sure this project must have been very satisfying.
CH: I was very happy that the objectives of the project were successfully fulfilled.
RJ: Well, thank you so much Carl for giving your valuable time. It was a pleasure to interview you.
CH: Thank you Rajen.
