Power Pivot in Excel 2013 Add-in enable you to perform powerful data analysis using familiar interface of Excel from virtually any data source. Users can create their own reports, perform analysis and decision making.
Power View in Excel 2013 Add-in consumes the data model created using Power Pivot to make pretty and interactive reports in SilverLight (Make sure Silverlight is installed on the client machine with Excel 2013)
If you are using Excel 2013 Standalone or Office Professional Plus or Office 365 Professional Plus Edition, Power Pivot is already installed and you just need to enable it from the available list of add-in. For Excel 2010, you need to download the Power Pivot Add-in from here.
Below are the steps
- Go to File -> Options -> Add-Ins Tab
- Select “Com Add-Ins” from Manage dropdown and Click “GO”
- Select “Microsoft Office PowerPivot for Excel 2013 ” and “Power View” from the available options and click “OK”
Enable Power Pivot & View
- Power Pivot Tab and Power View Option under Insert tab will be available
