Using Images in PowerView

Images give your dashboards a professional look and provide more ease of use. PowerView allows you to use images in about every possible way. One of the most effective usages of images in PowerView is with the Card object. In the last section you saw how visualizations placed on the same view interact with each other. Another way to group visualizations together is to use tiles. First create a table containing the grouping criteria. For example, you may want to organize sales figures by food type. To do so, first create a table using the menu type image, then change it to a tile type of visualization.

Key Point

To get the option to use images within PowerView, we must first establish in the PowerPivot data source that the columns that contains the image be set as Images. This is done inside the PowerPivot design environment in the AdvancedDefault Table Behavior under Table Behavior.
